Daniel Jack Gillisse

(1963 - 2002)

Daniel Jack Gillisse appeared in his 20th Circle Theatre production in 2002, starring as the role of "UGLY" in the 2002 musical HONK!

Dan worked as a teacher and fine arts coordinator for the Rockford Public school system.

His parents, Jack & Rose Gillisse, along with Circle Theatre, started the Daniel Gillisse Memorial Scholarship in 2003 which encourages young people in elementary grades and junior high to explore new areas of the arts.

Dan was a treasure of the Grand Rapids Theatre community, and is dearly missed both on, and off the stage.

ROBIN HOOD + KIDS FOOD BAKSET

Circle Theatre is teaming up with Kids' Food Basket by holding a Juice Box Drive during the run of Robin Hood and the Heroes of Sherwood Forest.

Patrons can bring one (or more!) 100%-juice Juice Box package (containing 4 or more juice boxes), and receive two (2) half-off tickets to see the family musical, Honk!

Each person who donates will be entered into a drawing to receive two (2) season tickets for the 2012 season!

For the June 30 and July 1 performances of Robin Hood and the Heroes of Sherwood Forest, Circle Theatre will also be hosting paper bag decorating for Kids' Food Basket sack suppers.

Decorating will be between the 10am and 1pm shows in the Lower Lobby of the Performing Arts Center. Members of the cast will also be joining!

Robin Hood Special Performances!

Cast members from the upcoming production of CIRCLE THEATRE PRESENTS: Robin Hood and the Heroes of Sherwood Forest will be appearing at Pooh's Corner: A Children's Bookstore on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22 @ 10:30AM... it's summer... so bring the kids! Oh, and it's FREE!!

If you can't make the appearance at Pooh's Corner, then join cast members at Grand Rapids Children's Museum on SATURDAY, JUNE 25 @ 12:00pm!

Theatre Patron Etiquette

The Alamo Drafthouse, a movie theater in Austin, has a very strict policy on audience etiquette. They made this PSA of an angry ejected patron and it has since gone viral. What kind of audience behavior policies should theaters have? Should they have any at all?
