Elderly Vision Care Las Vegas

Elderly Vision Care Las VegasOne of the most common complaints about getting older is continually worsening vision. If you’re over 60, you may have already experienced a greater difficulty reading, seeing road signs, or even vision problems like glaucoma and cataracts.

But it’s not too late to improve your eye health; in fact, making some healthy changes can help you preserve your vision so that you can enjoy your “mature” years in better spirits.

Elderly Vision Care Las Vegas: You may think that low vision problems, like blurred or hazy sight or worsening peripheral vision, is just a side effect of getting older. But these issues could be symptoms of an underlying condition. It’s important to see your eye doctor to discuss your low vision problems so you can work together to improve your overall eye health.

Keep other health problems in check: Many systemic health problems – like heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes – can also affect the health of your eyes. That’s just another reason it’s important to listen to your body and report anything unusual to your doctor. If your vision quality changes on a frequent basis, this could indicate other health problems.

Get lots of sleep: Don’t let your z’s become just a luxury. Sleeping helps lubricate the eyes and gives them time to clear out dust, allergens and other irritants you may have picked up during the course of the day.

Get moving: You might be tired of people telling you to exercise, but your eyes will thank you for it! The improved blood circulation and oxygen intake that come with cardiovascular exercise are fantastic for the eyes. Not to mention that exercise helps keep your weight in check, which decreases the risk of diseases like diabetes and heart disease that can affect your vision.

Do you have “eagle eyes” even in your “mature” years? Let us know your secret!
