OptoVue arrives at MMO

The OptoVue OCT has now arrived at Mira Mesa Optometry. We will now be offering Eye Wellness exams along with the rest of our usual pretesting to provide more information about your eye health. The scan will cost a nominal fee and the doctor can utilize the data to help assess your status. The OCT is also capable of doing further evaluations and scans when the situations warrant. If you have a family history of glaucoma, macular degeneration or other ocular conditions, this is a very good test to add to your yearly eye exams. Ask about it at your next visit.

Ultra now is available for astigmatism.  These monthly contacts are a new way of providing good, clear vision for those patients needing correction for astigmatism.  The lenses maintain excellent comfort throughout the day too.  Check out this new alternative and ask about them at your next visit.

Nerdwax now available at MMO

Do you have problems with sliding glasses?  Your solution is here......Nerdwax!  As seen on the TV show Shark Tank, Nerdwax is a product that is applied to the bridge of your glasses to keep them from sliding.  Lasts up to 5 hours and can be reapplied.  Come on in and ask about it.  We can apply some onto your glasses so you can see for yourself how well it really works.

Making Changes at Mira Mesa Optometry

When you come in you'll see that we've revamped our dispensary a bit to better help serve you.

Computer vision syndrome (CVS) is not defined by one specific eye problem. Symptoms can range from eye strain to pain and discomfort while working at the computer.  One thing you can do to limit CVS is by having your eyes checked and by wearing the correct prescription and lens design.  Did you know there are specific designs available for computer users?  These vary from single vision lens options to specially designed no-line multifocal lenses that help you maintain focus and proper head/neck position while viewing your monitor.  Other features include blue filtering coatings that help with overexposure to blue light rays emitted from most monitors, smart phones and tablets.  So if your job or hobbies entail lots of computer work, ask about these options at your next visit.....your eyes will thank you.
