Hope F. Snively, O.D.

Dr. Snively has been practicing Optometry in Northern Virginia for 33 years.  An Illinois native, she graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology.  She is an alumnus of Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she did internships at the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota and the Lynch Pediatric Unit of the Eye Institute of PCO.  Dr. Snively has been a clinical investigator for contact lens companies including Vistakon, Bausch and Lomb and Alcon.  She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association and the Northern Virginia Optometric Society.  Dr. Snively specializes in the fitting of contact lenses, the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases and the co-management of laser refractive surgery.  Dr. Snively had LASIK in 1999 and is currently seeing 20/20.  She is a mother with four grown children and enjoys reading books, gardening and watching ice hockey.

Dr. Snively currently sees patients in Reston and Falls Church.


Linda Miller, O.D.

Dr. Miller graduated from St. Francis College with a Bachelor of Science degree as a physician’s assistant. After several years in practice, Dr. Miller earned her doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Following a contact lens internship in the office of Drs. Snyder and Snively, she joined the practice. Dr. Miller has served as a clinical investigator in contact lens studies for Johnson and Johnson, Wesley Jessen, Ciba Vision and Bausch and Lomb. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Miller is experienced in the co-management of cataracts, glaucoma, LASIK and other forms of laser eye surgery. Her specialties include contact lenses, pediatrics and the diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment diseases.

Dr. Miller currently sees patients in Alexandria and Falls Church.


Theodora Vroustouris, O.D.

Dr. Vroustouris was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University and her doctorate from Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Vroustouris completed a residency in primary care at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. She has received specialized training in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, dry eyes, posterior segment retinal diseases as well as the pre and post operative co-management of cataracts. Dr. Vroustouris is highly experienced in the pre and post-operative care of patients undergoing LASIK and other forms of laser eye surgery.

Dr. Vroustouris currently sees patients in Arlington and Falls Church.


Keith Smithson, O.D.

Dr. Smithson specializes in pediatric and sports vision, as well as the treatment of patients suffering from post-concussion syndrome. He is the Director of Visual Performance for the Washington Nationals, the team Optometrist for the Washington Wizards, Spirit, Mystics and DC United, and Sports Vision Consultant for the Washington Redskins and Washington Capitals. Dr. Smithson offers sports vision consultations for serious athletes of all ages who are seeking an extra edge in athletic performance through vision enhancement. He also conducts visual and perceptual testing for children experiencing difficulty in school, and for adults with computer vision eyestrain or focusing problems.  Dr. Smithson is an industry leader in the evaluation and treatment of post-concussion vision syndrome.  Northern Virginia Doctors of Optometry utilizes the newest technology to address vision related issues post concussion.  Dr. Smithson is the chair-elect of the Sports and Performance Vision Committee of the American Optometric Association and a member of the Virginia Optometric Association. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Sapho Doan, O.D.

Dr. Doan was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and her doctorate degree cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Doan received training in ocular pathology and low vision care through her internships at Capital Eye Consultants, the Birmingham Veterans Administration Hospital, and the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. She specializes in family practice optometry including contact lens fittings,  the treatment and management of ocular diseases,  low vision evaluations and refractive surgery co-management. Dr. Doan is fluent in Vietnamese.  She is a member of the American and Virginia Optometric Associations.

Dr. Doan currently sees patients in Arlington and Falls Church.


Robert Sparrenberger, O.D.

Dr. Sparrenberger received his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University and his doctorate from the Indiana University School of Optometry. His specialties include the management and treatment of dry eye syndrome, contact lenses, cataract post-operative care, glaucoma diagnosis and management, and family practice optometry. Dr. Sparrenberger has been recognized by Johnson and Johnson for his excellence in contact lens patient care. He was honored as the 2010 Vanguard of the Year by the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Sparrenberger is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. 

Dr. Sparrenberger currently sees patients in Reston and Arlington.


Christina Giles, O.D.

Dr. Giles, a Pennsylvania native, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Gettysburg College and her doctorate from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City . Her specialties include the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, the fitting of hard and soft toric/ bifocal contact lenses, LASIK co-management, and general practice optometry. Dr. Giles is a member of the American Optometric Association (including the Cornea and Contact Lens Section) and the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Giles currently serves as secretary for the Northern Virginia Optometric Society.

Havish Bhalani, O.D.

Dr. Bhalani, a native of Virginia, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-medical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University and his doctorate degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. He received his clinical training at Albert Einstein Hospital, Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center, Capital Eye Consultants and Eye Doctors of Washington. Dr. Bhalani's specialties include the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, fitting of contact lens, and general practice optometry. Dr. Bhalani is fluent in Gujarati. In his free time, Dr. Bhalani like sports, watching movies, reading books and spending time with his family.

Dr. Bhalani currently sees patients in Alexandria and Falls Church.


Harry N. Snyder, O.D., FAAO

Dr. Snyder has been in practice in Falls Church for more than 30 years and maintains one of the largest contact lens practices in the area. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and was a pioneer in the co-management of patients undergoing LASIK and other forms of laser eye surgery. Dr. Snyder has served as a clinical investigator in contact lens studies for Johnson and Johnson, Wesley Jessen, Ciba Vision and Bausch and Lomb. He has also served as a Low Vision Examiner for the Virginia Department of the Visually Handicapped. Dr. Snyder received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, and a doctorate and a B.S. in visual science from the Illinois College of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Snyder’s areas of expertise include the difficult-to-fit contact lens patient, geriatrics, low vision, and the co-management of LASIK and other forms of laser vision correction.

Dr. Snyder currently sees patients in Falls Church.


Cameron Jones, O.D.

Dr. Jones grew up in Ohio and gained an interest in optometry when her grandfather was diagnosed with macular degeneration.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida and earned her optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated with honors from optometry school.  She went on to complete a one-year combined residency in ocular disease and low vision at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Edward Hines Jr Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago.  Dr. Jones is a member of the American Academy of Optometry and has successfully completed the Advanced Competency in Medical Optometry exam.  Her interests include low vision, ocular disease, and geriatrics.  

Dr. Jones currently sees patients in Arlington and Alexandria.


Alicia Kim, O.D., FAAO

Dr. Kim, a Northern Virginia native, graduated from Virginia Tech, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her doctorate from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Upon graduation, she received the Dr. M. Cohen Memorial Award for Volunteer Commitment to Community Service. She then moved to Philadelphia and completed her residency training in primary care with emphasis in ocular disease at Salus University. Her areas of specialties include emergency eye care, specialty glaucoma, and fitting orthokeratology contact lenses, which are known to delay nearsightedness progression. Dr. Kim has also been published in the Review of Optometry and has lectured to fellow optometrists at the Bucks-Montgomery Optometric Society. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Kim currently sees patients in Falls Church and Reston.
